The Good, The Bad, and the Ironic:
Postmodernism in Mainstream Culture, aka "Hipster-dom."
This documentary film will take a look at the rise of the so called alternative to mainstream culture, the hipster, in terms of popular culture. The film will open with a series of clips from popular TV Shows and Movies referencing hipsters, to show the extent to which they have become part of the mainstream.
Then, we will interview some people who identify as hipsters, and ask them how they feel about the mass popularization of their culture, and whether or not being a hipster is now mainstream.
The tone will not be all that serious, as postmodernism has a way of deconstructing everything once held as important, and we have to keep up somehow. Indie music will be used to set the mood.
